ContestsSummer of Firsts Congratulations so the winners of Tammy Kane's First Kiss Contest 1st place - Julianne Revezzo Draper, with 'Orbital Kiss'
Thank-you to everyone who entered my 'First Kiss' contest. I loved reading your tales... the sweet, the passionate, the quirky and the intense. I especially thank everyone who shared with me their true 'first kiss' tales. Since you did, I thought it only fair to expose my true 'first kiss' tale. Since I was only twelve years old, it isn't quite as loving as any of the tales that you sent to me. But still memorable. So here goes... His name was Sean. He was very tall, had a face covered in freckles and a mop of red hair. (Yes, I carried a torch for red-heads for quite some time) A group of us kids were hiding between houses in our neighborhood, sometime just before dark. His trio of friends waited behind him, acting cool, but shuffling their feet. My trio of girlfriends stood behind me, giggling and giving me those embarrassing shoves toward him. My face burned as red as his hair when I finally reached him. I, in fact, had him backed up into the wall of the house we had all mutually chosen to 'do the deed'. Then, with little preamble and certainly no words, I kissed him. I can't lie. It was wet and it was sloppy. I remember thinking, 'his lips feel like rubber', and then worrying, 'am I doing this right?' I can't remember how long the lip-lock lasted, and again, we exchanged no words when we broke apart. But he was grinning. He walked to his friends, and I walked back to mine, confident that I must have done a great job. The boys and the girls walked their separate ways. I grinned and shrugged and calmly told my friends that it had been 'all right'. Then I heard Sean say, quite distinctly, to his friends, "She bit my lip."
Hmm.
